Our Affiliations
We are an autonomous Baptist Church, meaning we are governed, led and directed by the members and leadership of First Baptist Church. For missions and outreach purposes, we have chosen to partner with several local, state and national organizations.
Our Purpose
We find our purpose from the instructions of Jesus Christ in the establishment of His church. Our purpose statement of; “A place to belong, A place to believe and A place to become” helps us to define His directive to “know Him and make Him known” . We do this through Worship, Ministry, Fellowship, discipleship and evangelism.
The History of The First Baptist Church of Blowing Rock, NC
First Baptist Church of Blowing Rock, North Carolina came to be in 1903, due in part to the determined missionary efforts of early Baptists. Our Baptist ancestors wanted to go up every river, cross every ridge, ride up every valley to tell the old, old story.
What We Believe
We affirm the Holy Bible as the inspired Word of God and the basis for our beliefs. The church subscribes to the doctrinal statement on the following page.
Worship Schedule
Every week we come together for worship on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights. Our Sunday morning schedule is focused on our combined worship time, and our small group bible study classes. Our Wednesday night is focused on large group Bible study times for our adults, youth and children, along with our weekly large group time of prayer.
